Occupational Health & Safety Policy

The management of Power Consult Limited (PCL) endorses the March 2017 revision of our safety manual as a guide to those working on behalf of the Company. Management of Power Consult Limited is committed to the health and safety of our workers, property, the environment and the general public to the limits of our abilities. Employees of Power Consult Limited, including management, will comply with all applicable government, provincial & municipal government regulations, along with Power Consult Limited’s Health, Safety & Environmental standards, which will meet and/or exceed the aforementioned government regulations.

A safety manual, by itself, will not keep our workers safe - individuals' active involvement is imperative. Power Consult Limited’s goal is to have an incident/accident free workplace with no record of workplace related injuries or illnesses. In the event of an occurrence, Power Consult Limited will take the appropriate measures as an organization to prevent recurrence. Power Consult Limited believes in continuous improvement of their health & safety program and that we can prevent personal injury, property damage and environmental impact by:

  • Making a personal commitment – it is the responsibility of each employee, sub-contractor & contract worker of Power Consult Limited to actively make safety a priority. Management, Supervisors, Workers, Resource Persons, and Sub-contractors are all responsible for abiding by policies and procedures set forth by Power Consult Limited and will be held accountable.
  • Including safety considerations in each bid process - regardless of the size of the project, safety must be how we do business.
  • Assessing each worksite - each worker is expected to take the necessary time to adequately assess each task for hazards and implement proper controls before work begins.
  • Continuing safety program development - direct involvement of workers in further safety program development is critical in making it effective yet practical.

Accident prevention is the responsibility of all employees. Preventing accidents shall be a primary consideration in all phases of our operations and administration. It is our intention as a company to provide a safe and healthy work place. Power Consult Limited will establish and insist upon safe work practices by all employees at all times.

All supervisors must make employee safety an integral part of their management duties. Each employee must accept and follow all established safety, loss control and risk management regulations and procedures.

  • Power Consult Limited believes that safety starts with proper training.
  • We will provide training to all of our employees.
  • Employees must help to prevent accidents.
  • Housekeeping is everyone’s responsibility.
  • Unsafe conditions must be reported immediately to management

If an employee is not sure of how to perform a task safely, he or she should ask a qualified person for guidance or help. If someone needs help to perform a task safely, we will provide assistance.

Safety is a Team Effort!

Every injury must be reported immediately; even a slight cut or strain injury must be reported immediately. Accidents and injuries must be reported to the supervisor, management or safety officer immediately. “IMMEDIATELY” MEANS WHEN THE ACCIDENT OR INJURY OCCURS. Never leave the job site or clock out before reporting the accident or injury.

Serious injuries that require emergency medical care must be reported to management immediately after emergency care has been provided.

  • All accidents will be thoroughly investigated.
  • Employees must cooperate with management during any accident or injury investigation.

Remember, Always Work Safe! Accidents Hurt Everyone!
